Language Immersion in Provo

While we were in Utah we spent five days in Provo at the SMTC Immersion Center (Senior Mission Training Center) which is in a Chapel just off the BYU campus at University Ave. and 800 N.  We gave them the hours we were available and they scheduled us with study time, tutor time and study buddy time.  It was great to be able to meet our tutor in person and work with him that way.

This is us with one of our Study Buddies, Anggita Putri Bogor, from Indonesia.  Her Father is in the Jakarta Stake Presidency and her Mom works at the Mission home.  We are looking forward to meeting them.  It was also nice and helpful to visit and talk to people at least twice a day who had either been on a mission to Indonesia or who is from Indonesia.  They helped us so much just by talking to us and reading with us.  They helped with our pronunciation and understanding.  It really helps to be able to listen to different people talk in Indonesian.  It helps with our listening and trying to understand.  We had a great time.  We will go back the beginning of September again just before we enter the SMTC.

This is us with our Tutor that we have been working with since the middle of April.  We will be getting a new tutor as Brother Johnson just left for Dallas to do an internship.  We are waiting to hear from our new tutor.  We should see Brother Johnson again when we go back for Immersion in September.  We really learned a lot from him and are grateful for all of his help.
