The elders came by at about 3 in the afternoon to eat the chocolate chip cookies that I made, and so they and Elder Tucker could go see how much they would charge to make a suit. After talking for awhile they said a suit would run Rp1,500,000, talked a little longer then they threw in that the material was additional and it ran about Rp300,000 per yard, and that for those tall or fat it would take 3 yards, so about $180. So Elder visited for a little longer, and they settled on a suit with 2 pair of pants for Rp2,650,000, his real goal was Rp2,000,000 but he would have needed to check out a lot more tailor shops than he wanted to and on that street almost every store was a tailor shop, he guessed there were about 30 of them. We will have to wait and see how it turns out. It is supposed to be ready by the 6th of July.
Tuesday morning I picked up the keyboard from Sari (investigator). We then had DDM at our apartment and fed the Elders brunch also. We then took Elder Haws and Martoyo to meet Nefi and go visit with a friend of his.
On Wednesday we stopped and picked up a couple of frames to put photos in for a couple of families in the branch. We spent a little time cleaning up the church. While we were there a group of high school girls were standing around the front gate looking at the church and talking. We knew they were trying to get the courage up to come in for some reason, so for a while we just watched through the window with some shear curtains, so they did not see us paying attention to them. Once they finally came towards the door I went to go visit with them and see what we could do for them. They were from a high school where a set of elders sometime in the past went to talk about learning English. So we visited for a while and I took them on a tour of our building, and discussed the church with them. Elder visited with Ronald who was there to help tutor Sari in her English, we talked about the status of Sari's visa for NZ and Australia, which the latest status we have as of yesterday, "still waiting". Later he came in to remind me that I was going to help with Sari's English learning on Friday (doing a role play), and to see if there were any recipes she wanted so she could take them home. Sari and Elder spent some time practicing her English this evening, before we called it a day and headed for home.
On Thursday we weren't really sure what it was we were going to do. But as we were doing some studying, Elder got two emails, one regarding Hartos PEF application, and one from Bro. Sujud regarding progress on Sari's Australian visa. So we spent some time trying to figure out exactly what and how we needed to get the things done for Sari's visa. After spending some time reading the forms and documents from the Australian Immigration Department, Elder sent out a couple of text messages, and made a phone call to try and locate Sari, as she still does not have a phone. I went ahead and got on line and made an appointment for Sari to see the one Dr. in Medan that they approved. Finally got together with her on the phone as we were driving to go to her home. While there we visited with the family, delivered a framed lithograph of the temple, and a keyboard for Yolana to try and complete the keyboard class with Elizabeth Nainggolan as the teacher. Then we brought Elder Haws, Martoyo and Sari to our apartment so we could use the internet (as we haven't had internet at the church for a couple of weeks now) so she could complete a medical history for the Australian Immigration, and make arrangements to get her to her appointment on Monday, if her passport arrives from Jakarta in time (must have her original passport in order to get the medical check up with the Australian approved Doctor or he will cancel the appointment). Sujud sent her passport today as it has been at the mission office. We hope it gets here in time. After we finished we took everyone home and then we stopped and did our shopping and headed home for the evening.
On friday we stopped at a shop we had both noticed and Elder bought a couple of Batik shirts and I bought some material (of course). I worked doing some role play with Sari this afternoon while Elder dropped the bookshelf from our apartment off at the elder's home. Also dropped off the two thin fold-up mattresses that the elders kept here for when they or the sisters needed to spend the night in our apartment. For about the past two or three weeks they have been again evacuating people around Sinabung, and on days where the wind brings the ash this way we get a light dusting of volcano ash.
On Saturday Elder spent most the day with Tatok from Jakarta trying to get the modem & firewall to function together in the church building. After they finished he dropped Tatok off at his hotel and headed back to the church for a Malam Keluarga to say farewell to Mei who we will take to the airport on Wednesday morning. President Yosep was unable to be there because he ended up having to go out of town for work today & won't be back till later this evening. It was quite hot in the church building for our activity, and then after about 45 minutes they realized no one had taken care of getting the food for the activity, so we didn't eat until a little after 8.

Today after church we spent some time with members and then headed home. We had the Elders over for probably the last time before we leave. Had a good dinner and I made a german Chocolate cake for Elder Wills birthday which was last week. We are trying to use up what we have before we leave and only buying the necessities. Mei spoke as she leaves Wednesday for her mission and Novita also spoke as she leaves next sunday for her new government job. She was one of the PEF students who finished school and now has a good job. Tomorrow we take Sari to her Dr's appointment and then we will take the Elders up the mountain to the Buddist temple.
