We are staying at the Aryaduta Samanggi Hotel in Jakarta. Bro. Agus, who had picked up one of the mission vehicles, brought his wife and daughters (whom we invited as they had never been to the park before) for our trip to Taman Safari, in Bogor. We drove through the zoo portion of the park, feeding all of the animals, then Lyla & Jesse rode an Elephant. We then walked through the bird apiary. Lyla and Elder Tucker held one of the parrots. It started raining quite hard, so we went and had lunch in the restaurant and stayed there until it at least slowed down a little, then we bought a couple of umbrellas to use. We saw the dolphin & cowboy shows and then visited the Komodo Dragon display, and headed back to the Hotel and dinner.
Agus and family with Lyla. He drove for us and we invited his family to come along. He helps us with our Kitas and visa problems.

We spent some time on Tuesday at the Service Center coordinating reimbursment payments, because they have over paid us twice recently by a lot. We walked over to a couple of outlet stores so Jesse could buy a couple things, clothing here is much cheaper than in Brazil. We came back to the hotel, so Lyla could take a nap and then we were going to go to a fish market, for aquarium type fish, but she and Jesse didn't wake up until about 7pm so we just ordered room service and had a quiet night.

We spent most of the day in PLD(Zone Conference), as this was our last PLD we, along with a good number of missionaries, had the opportunity to share our testimonies. We then got a cab and went to the airport for the trip to Bali.
A learning activity about working together at Zone conference. Fun to watch.
Us with Elder Panjaitan. It maybe the last time we ever see him. He has meant alot to use as he is from Medan and we helped him get ready to leave on his mission. Such a sweet, very special person. He is working on his English and he says he wants to go to one of the BYU schools.
We spent the early part of thursday in and by the pool. Later in the day we went to the beach and played for awhile. Then in the evening walked into what they call the Bali Collection, a bunch of shops and restaurants. Had dinner at Frangipani Bali Int’l Restaurant, I tried a local fish, its name started with a "T", but I sure can't remember what it was, but it was better than most of the fish I have had here, flesh was much firmer and only a few bones. Left the restaurant and went to one of the stores that offered a pedicure by fish, those that they are not allowing in the States. So Lyla and I decided to give it a go. $5 for 15 minutes. It really felt interesting, after a while Lyla, who laughed through out it because she said it tickled, had had enough, so Jesse took over. Then we did a little shopping and started to walk back to the hotel, but ended up in a taxi because Lyla had already had enough walking.

Elder made arrangements for a driver to pick us up at 9:00 am to go to a Batik and Silver shop and also the Monkey temple. So we had breakfast at the hotel buffet, since it is included in our room rate. So we went to the batik shop, and discovered they were closed for renovation, and wouldn't open back up for at least another month. So we stopped at a silver shop the driver knew about, but it was expensive, and only had jewelry for sale, so we didn't stay long. We found another batik shop where you can watch how they make it and they had table cloths, so we bought several along with other things. We went to the Yatra Silver shop where we had been before and bought a couple of things and watched them create some jewelery. Lastly, after lunch, we went to the Monkey Forest, which was the most exciting for Lyla. A couple of us had a monkey jump on us. It started raining on our way there. We then headed back to the hotel and swam for a while, then had room service for dinner.

We spent most of Saturday in airports and on the plane. Bro. Manalu picked us up and we were back in our apartment by 7 pm. We had a light dinner and called it a night.
Sunday we went to Church and Jesse and Lyla were a big hit. Everyone wanted pictures with Lyla. She was even willing to participate in Primary with my help and the Primary Presidents, since she can speak english pretty well. We then came home with Jesse and Lyla riding in Bro. Sinaga's Becak. We then went out visiting for a while and went to see Sister Ezra and the Nainggolan family. We then went home and had dinner and went to bed as we had an early morning.
