Elder went to the church early Monday morning because Vince said he would have a gardener come to the building and cut the grass. At about noon Vince showed up, while the grass was being cut they spent time visiting and discussing the progress he is making on preparing to serve a mission. At noon Elder Kyle and Kelultota came with lunch. Then the elders and Elder caught a becak to go to the art store, so Elder Kyle could buy an oil painting to take home in a few days. I stayed home and did laundry and worked on Family History and such. We got an email from Vardell through Seth with an update on dad's(Elder Tuckers) condition. Vardell Tucker had emergency surgery at Torrance Memorial Hospital. This happened Saturday evening, 5/2/15, he had a section of intestine removed and colostomy surgery. This will require much rest and recovery time. He was up for one very short walk today.
On Tuesday when we got to church we found the neighbors were setting up a large canopy out in the street, so we won't be able to get to our front gate. So we decided to stay away until Saturday when we have to be at the church and also when the party is.
We stopped by the church on Wednesday and spent the rest of the day running some errands, and getting gas for the car, LPG for the stove, and water for both the apartment and the church. But with all the set-up effort for the coming party next door to the church, we called it quits there and headed for home.
DDM had been rescheduled for today, Thursday, at our apartment because it took a little longer than usual for the notes from the Mission Leadership Council to get put together and sent to Medan. Because Elder Kyle is heading for home on Tuesday, they decided not to have him travel to Jakarta for the meeting. It was a good thing to, because we were planning to have breakfast before DDM. After we finished breakfast yesterday, we were boiling some water and it never came to a boil cause we ran out of gas, so at least we weren't in the middle of trying to cook breakfast for all of the missionaries.
On Friday we gave Bro. Manalu the day off and we stayed home all day since we would have had a hard time getting to the church.
We were planning to go to church early to meet with Harto and Vani about PEF, but his work schedule changed, and we rescheduled for 5 this evening. But we still left early and went to the hospital to visit Sara Nababan, because we got a text late last night that she was in an accident on her motor bike. While we were there the Sisters and Mei showed up to visit also, she wasn't hurt real bad, but could not remember what had happened for a period of about 12 hours, so they wanted to do a scan to make sure everything is fine. After that we had Bro. Manalu drop us off a couple of blocks from the church, because of all the cars and people attending our neighbors party, and we walked the rest of the way. We visited with those who stopped by the church, and then had our BML meeting, and English Class, Elder spent the English Class time working with Bro. Buyung trying to get in to update his PEF application. After struggling with the new software changes they made, He called Elder Kentjana to see if he could help, come to find out, he said they haven't added a module to cover those who need to renew their loan. So again this year it is using a new system and having to put band-aids on it to make it work. They did get 5 copies of the priesthood leaders endorsement printed, and Pres. Yosep came to church this evening and was able to complete interviews with all of them. Elder asked if the neighbor had discussed using the street out front for their party, he said they had, and that he had and invitation for Elder Tucker and I to attend, but we didn't know until too late to attend. Also spent a lot of time visiting with Harto about completing his PEF application, and going over the amounts he would need to borrow to attend school for Mechanical Engineering, and the total he would owe when he finished school in 4 years. We left the church to find a taxi to take us home about 7:30pm, but before we got there a becak driver asked if we wanted a ride. So we decided to use him, his motor was not able to go very fast, and after a while he was looking for a stand on the road side to buy a liter of gas. He couldn't find one, and sure enough he ran out of gas. So we stopped and he took his bottle and went down the road to find some gas, after about 5 or 10 minutes he came back and we got back on the way. Because we were traveling so slow we did manage to visit about the church for about 15 minutes. We got home and worked on making dessert and corn tortillas for dinner tomorrow when the missionaries come over to visit for their mothers day skype. At least for the American missionaries. We also got a text from Elder Kyle telling us that the mission was doing a fast starting saturday and that they would be really hungry when they came over Sunday.

Sunday we had our first every Stake Conference which was really an area broadcast from Salt Lake for the Asia area. I think it was done last week and then sent out to all the countries to be voiced over in their language. We then did some PEF things and I tried to get applications back from some of my keyboard students to get their keyboards placed permanantly with them. Need to get it done before we leave. The missionaries came over for dinner. Chicken Enchiladas, tacos, refried beans, tortilla chips, salsa, guacamole and dessert. They did not leave hungry. Elders Kyle and Wills also were able to skype home. Elder Kyle wasn't going to because he goes home Wednesday but I told him he had better ask his mother and not just make that decision. He came back last week and said yes he would be calling his mom. I told him I thought his mom would have him call. I know I would if it was one of my children. It was a good night.

This MTC group goes home on Wednesday. The Sisters went home in November and one is already married. This is a wonderful group and we had the privileage of working with many of them in Medan and associating at Zone conferences or as they were AP's or Sister Trainers. Boy do they look young here. Their 3 teachers are also included in the picture
